After a brief visit, we continue to Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its natural, cultural, and historical significance. We'll cross the border and continue our journey to the shores of the Aegean Sea. Upon arrival in Thessaloniki, the rest of the day is free.

Day 11, Friday, in Thessaloniki

Today we'll spend the day in Thessaloniki and have time to explore it fully. After breakfast, we'll visit the most interesting spots in this city. Thessaloniki is a port city in Greece on the Gulf of Thessaloniki in the Aegean Sea. It preserves evidence of its Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman history, especially around Ano Poli, the upper town. The ruins of the 4th-century palace of the Roman Emperor Galerius include the Rotunda, which served as both a church and a mosque. Much of the city center was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1917. The rebuilt 20th-century city has a modern European design.

Day 12, Saturday, to Kalambaka

After breakfast, we'll head towards central Greece. The journey will take us to Kalambaka. The rest of the day is free.

Day 13, Sunday, to Meteora

Today we'll have time to visit the famous Meteora Monasteries, one of the most popular tourist attractions in mainland Greece. In a metaphysical landscape that could be the ideal setting for the next Star Wars film (but which was already used for James Bond movies in the 1980s), imposing sandstone towers rise, each topped by a former monastery. The six Meteora monasteries we can visit today share a very similar structure, built around a central courtyard featuring the monks' cells, the refectory, and one or more prayer chapels.
The main church is located in the courtyard.

Day 14, Monday, to Delphi

After breakfast, departure for Delphi. Arrival at the hotel and the rest of the day free to enjoy the city.

Day 15, Tuesday, to Athens

In the morning, we will visit Delphi with a local guide. On this half-day tour, we will discover one of the most famous cities of the ancient world and one of Greece's most popular tourist destinations today, an ideal place to learn about Greek mythology and history. We will visit two interesting sites: the Temple of Apollo and the Archaeological Museum of Delphi. In the afternoon, we will depart for Athens and check into our hotel.

Day 16, Wednesday, in Athens

After breakfast, a tour of Athens. Athens is one of the oldest named cities in the world, having been continuously inhabited for at least 5,000 years. During the tour, we will visit the Acropolis, a citadel on a hill with ancient buildings, such as the Parthenon temple with its columns. The Acropolis Museum and the National Archaeological Museum preserve sculptures, vases, jewelry, and other artifacts from Ancient Greece. After the tour, the afternoon is free for you to enjoy this fascinating city on your own.
